In the African nation of Uganda, there is an increase in the number of Russian Orthodox clergy, and new deaneries are being created. This was announced by the Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov .
“I noted the great growth of our clergy in the country, which has doubled over the past year. A new deanery was formed - the third in a row in the country,” Father George said on his social networks, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate [2].

Evidence of the events mentioned was the cathedral Liturgy in the capital of the country, Kampala, in which 22 clergy took part - priests and deacons of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.
At the end of the service, Priest George Maximov held a general meeting of clergy of the Patriarchal Exarchate in Uganda, and also handed over books, icons, incense, liturgical accessories, pectoral crosses and vestments to the clergy.
“Many issues were discussed in the spirit of openness, and solutions were outlined,” noted Father George.
In addition, at this meeting the first publication of the Exarchate in one of the local languages was presented - an Orthodox prayer book in the language of the Acholi people [3]. The circulation was handed over to the priests of the Northern Deanery serving in the parishes where the Acholi live.
